Killian Beckett [Holy Chamberlain]

Killian Beckett [Holy Chamberlain]. HoD Awaits You.

Behind the screen, The Emperor did not vocalise. He intoned as though needing to speak but not wanting to be heard. Killian, was inclined to cough or shuffle to draw attention but felt obliged to wait and to trust his master, The Emperor. Killian heard the escritoire drawer close and the quarter-fall pushed up. His heart shook. The grunts of the Emperor were unshielded as he looped the key around his neck. Then, from behind the screen, The Emperor revealed himself, portraying radiation with the holy static smile.
      “Yes, Killian, have you business?”
Killian tried not to appear presumptuous; tried not to appear repulsed by The Emperor’s holy hand at his back. “Imperial Majesty, news of Tristeza Borrada.”
      “Is he dead?”
      “I am uncertain, Imperial Majesty.”
