The Harmonic Node Ciphered Air Device

The Harmonic Node Ciphered Air Device. HoD Awaits You.

She looked off across the peatlands: black, grey and dead. “You can have the Node.” She nodded, like a rooted plant yielding. “But sit. Your static and crackles would disturb Daguerre.”
Borrada set down Lorelei’s Harmonic Node radio and fidgeted with the controls. His fingers felt clumsy across the dials and his mind felt incompetent as the sounds came: noises like hiccups, screaming birdsongs, car tyres and warped violas. He had never apprehended the Node’s deciphering; he had never spent the years learning to speak its esoteric sonic language. He put his hand to his head, despairing at the sounds passing to space still ciphered.
      “Speak,” Lorelei said.
“But I can’t understand any of it.”
“Close your eyes. See the sounds.”
